Pietila Pools is a name that is well known around Southeastern Michigan. Originally started as Pietila Bros., and involved in the roofing industry for quite some time, the Pietila name is recognized in the industry as a leader in backyard swimming pool design and building.
Allan Curtis, Pietila Pools
The company was originally owned by Ernie Pietila. When Ernie decided it was time to retire, he went to two existing employees – and divided the company into two entities. Gary Pietila took over the Howell, MI Pietila Pools Store and Allan Curtis, a long time employee, took over the Pietila Pools – Farmington Hills location.
The new leadership resulted in some changes for the Pietila Pools Farmington Hillls. With a background in physics and art, Allan Curtis was more interested in creating unique and interesting projects than just standard backyard pools, and began to transition the company into more creative backyard escapes, branding these as Legendary Escapes. The pool store in Farmington Hills remained open until 2006 when the location was sold to a landsacaping company, and the Farmington Hills Pietila Pools relocated to Hartland Township – focusing on service of existing clients, and the Legendary Escapes branded pools became the construction arm of the company.
Fast Forward to 2011 – where the Pietila Pools Services arm of the company continues to service swimming pool customers in Southeastern Michigan (not to be confused with Pietila Pools – Howell, which is still owned and operated by Gary Pietila – and is completely independent of Pietila Pools Services (formerly Farmington Hills, MI).

I have an inground gunite pool in Milford. I am looking to replace my old winter cover with safety cover. Are you able to do a free estimate to help determine the feasibility of this option? I am also considering a solar cover and would look to hear options on that as well.

Yes, we can do a quote for a new safety cover. Is your pool a standard shape, ie rectangle, does it have any obstacles like rocks, a waterfall, or raised spa?
I can give you a ballpark price, if you have dimensions and a photo. If you would like an actual quote then we’d need to come out and take measurements and have the manufacturer give us the price. It is free to have it estimated. We could do this once the pool is opened for the summer. We do swimming pool openings as well.
